The Approach

What a Session Is Like

A good family session feels like a walk with a camera tagging along. I plan around the light and the location, then let kids be kids, and the best frames come from the in-between moments: a piggyback, a shared joke, a hand grabbed at a crosswalk.

Vacation sessions are shorter and looser. We meet near your hotel or at a landmark, walk a few of the best spots, and I photograph the trip the way you'd like to remember it: families, couples, friends, birthdays and proposals. I scout the timing and the crowds so you don't have to.

Most sessions run 45 to 90 minutes, usually around golden hour. In New York that could be the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise or a quiet SoHo morning. In Los Angeles it might be Santa Monica, Venice or the Griffith Observatory at dusk.

Kind Words

From Recent Clients

We had such a great experience with Ozum for our maternity shoot! She showed up rain or shine, made us feel really comfortable in front of the camera, and knew all the best spots in Central Park. Her communication was excellent throughout the whole process, and everything felt easy and stress-free. We’re so happy with our photos and would highly recommend her!

Ozum was wonderful. We arrived about 10 minutes late, but she waited for us with a kind smile and was very flexible. She guided us through Central Park, from the Shakespeare statue to Bethesda Terrace and Bow Bridge, and she made us feel relaxed from the first minute. She took many more photos than we expected, and every picture is beautiful and natural. You can see our real laughter in each one. This shoot was for my wife's 30th birthday and our first time together after six months apart, and Ozum captured that feeling perfectly. Thank you so much, Ozum!

We worked with Ozum for a hometown photo shoot in Central Park and had such a great experience! She was so kind and patient with our dogs, and the whole session easy and fun. The photos turned out beautifully — she did an amazing job capturing the fall foliage. It’s never easy to photograph dogs, but she truly nailed it! We’re absolutely thrilled with how everything came out and would highly recommend her.

Questions

Before You Book

How far ahead should I book a family session in NYC?

Spring and fall fill quickly, so 3 to 6 weeks ahead is a good target. Shorter notice is often possible, so send your date and I'll check.

Do we need a permit to shoot in NYC parks?

Small portrait sessions are usually fine, but rules change with group size, equipment and location. I'll tell you if your chosen spot needs anything before we book it.

Can you deliver photos before our trip ends?

Yes. For short stays I send a handful of previews within 48 hours, and the full gallery follows.

What if it rains?

We move to another day within your trip or season at no cost. Overcast light is flattering, and light rain can make great pictures with the right umbrella.
